Some weddings feel like they’re straight out of a fairytale, and Tiffany & Josh’s day at The Tree Church & Gardens in Ōhaupō, Waikato was exactly that! With roses climbing the frame of the living tree church and the immaculate gardens cared for so beautifully by owners Bev and Chris, it was the perfect backdrop for their celebration!
We spent 9 hours together capturing every detail of the day, with Kate assisting me to make sure no moment was missed. The ceremony inside the stunning Tree Church was something truly special, the light filtered through the leaves and with their lovely family and friends gathered, it felt so peaceful and intimate.
After the ceremony, we explored the grounds for their bridal party photos. The great thing about The Tree Church is that you don’t need to leave for portraits, everywhere you look, there’s a new hidden corner, manicured pathway, or blooming garden that makes the perfect setting. Later, as the sun began to set, we snuck away for golden hour portraits. Tiffany and Josh had a chance to just be together, soak in the moment, and enjoy that incredible Waikato sunset glow.
Their reception was held inside The Gantry, a light-filled indoor reception space on the property. It was such a beautiful mix of elegance and warmth, with heartfelt speeches, delicious food, and plenty of laughter. Family played a big role in their day, with Josh’s uncle Craig and aunty Tania stepping in as MCs, keeping the night flowing perfectly.
One of my favourite parts of this wedding was how personal it felt. From Tiffany’s dress from Astra Bridal, to Josh’s suit from Tarocash, to the sweetest cake by Danielle Higgs – Sweeties by Dan, every detail was chosen with love. The florals by Bridget McLaughlin of Blooming Bouquets brought a fresh touch to the day, paired with gorgeous styling that blended beautifully with the natural setting. Tiffany looked stunning thanks to Alice Drury – Artistry by Alice on makeup and Shavonne Coromandel – Styling by Von on hair.
Guests were spoiled with catering from Southern Spit BBQ, and Tiffany & Josh exchanged rings from Tiffs Rings and Showcase Jewelers Te Awamutu, such meaningful little details woven into the bigger story.
It was such an honour to capture this day for Tiffany & Josh. From the getting ready through to the last dance, it was the perfect mix of joy, love, and celebration in one of the most unique venues the Waikato has to offer.
