When The Mortgage Crew launched their new business, they needed professional imagery for a team spread across New Zealand.

Having photographed some of the team previously, I was brought back in to create their new headshots and team photography, with everyone travelling to my Hamilton studio for the shoot.

The aim was to create clean, polished and cohesive imagery that could represent the new business professionally, while also making it practical to keep everything consistent as their team grows.

Consistent headshots for a nationwide team

When your team isn’t all based in one office, keeping everyone’s photography looking consistent can become surprisingly tricky.

For The Mortgage Crew, I photographed each person using a consistent studio lighting setup, along with team photographs and different group combinations.

Creating that consistency from the beginning also means new staff can be photographed later using the same approach, rather than the team page slowly becoming a collection of completely different lighting, backgrounds, crops and photography styles.

Creating professional settings with digital backgrounds

Alongside the clean studio portraits, I also created versions of the imagery using digital backgrounds.

This allowed us to place the team into professional-looking environments while maintaining consistency across the photographs, without needing the entire nationwide team to work from or travel to the same physical office.

The lighting, angle and positioning are considered during the original shoot so the finished composites feel believable rather than looking like someone has been enthusiastically introduced to the background-removal button five minutes earlier. 😂

Photography that can grow with the business

For a new business, the photography you need at launch isn’t necessarily all you’ll need six months or two years later.

By creating a repeatable look for The Mortgage Crew’s individual headshots, additional team members can be photographed as the business grows while keeping the overall collection cohesive.

It means their photography can evolve alongside the team without needing everyone from around the country to come back together every time something changes.
