For a real estate team, your photos end up in a LOT of places.

Team Blair & Paula from Lodge Real Estate needed an updated library of professional team photography that could work across everything from online marketing and social media through to print and large-format advertising.

The goal for the finished images was clean and polished, while keeping the colours natural and true to life. The team needed a versatile library of professional imagery that could work across their online, print and large-format marketing.

Creating variety across one shoot

I photographed the team on location in a light and airy Hamilton showhome, giving us plenty of options to create variety without the final gallery feeling disconnected.

Across the shoot I photographed Blair and Paula together, different combinations of the wider team, indoor and outdoor portraits, and updated individual headshots for most of the team.

We also incorporated a few outfit changes, which meant the team came away with a much broader selection of imagery to use across different platforms and campaigns rather than every photograph looking like it came from exactly the same five minutes.

Photography made for more than one platform

One of the big differences with commercial photography is thinking beyond where an image is going to be used today.

A photograph that works beautifully on a website isn’t necessarily composed the way you’d want an image for a billboard, print advertisement or social campaign.

So while the finished gallery needed to feel consistent, it also needed plenty of variation in orientation, composition, team combinations and individual portraits, with space allowed for designers to use the images in various ways.

The images are now being used throughout Team Blair & Paula’s marketing, including online, print and large-format advertising.

And that’s one of my favourite things about photographing commercial teams. Creating one really useful library of imagery that can keep working for the business long after the photoshoot itself.
