A finished show home gives a building company a huge amount to photograph.

For Build Taupo, I photographed their first show home in Taupo, creating a collection of interior and exterior photography alongside video clips that could be used to showcase the finished build and its details.

Rather than only photographing each room as a whole, I captured the property from a mixture of perspectives, including wider interior spaces, the exterior of the home and closer details throughout.

Photographing the details as well as the spaces

There was plenty worth documenting inside this home.

Alongside the wider photographs showing the layout and feel of each space, I photographed the fixtures, tapware, lighting, materials, textures and finishing details throughout the build.

These closer images are particularly useful for builders because they show more than what a finished room looks like. They give potential clients a closer look at the workmanship, material choices and smaller features that can otherwise disappear in a collection of wide-angle property photographs.

Interior and exterior photography

The photography covered the home from both inside and out, creating a broader library of imagery rather than a handful of hero shots.

Wide photographs show the finished spaces and how different areas of the home connect, while tighter compositions pick up individual features and details.

The exterior photography then completes the story of the build, showing the finished home within its Taupo setting.

Photography + video content

Alongside the still photography, I also captured video clips throughout the show home.

This gave Build Taupo another way to show the property and its details, with movement adding a different perspective to the finished spaces than photography alone.

Together, the photography and video created a versatile collection of commercial content centred around one completed project.
