Megan and Jeremy got married at Narrows Landing here in Hamilton, and somehow managed to fit beautiful florals, Duck Island ice cream, an amazing sunset and a very full dance floor into one wedding day.

Which is a pretty solid combination if you ask me.

Getting married at Narrows Landing

One of the nice things about having your wedding at Narrows Landing is being able to have so much of the day in one place.

Megan and Jeremy held their ceremony at the venue before everyone settled in for the afternoon, and we had plenty of different spots around the property to use for photos without needing to disappear miles away from their guests.

Frankie & Flora created the florals for the day and they were SO beautiful. Megan’s sister-in-law was also part of the wedding morning as her makeup artist, which made getting ready that little bit more personal.

There was also Duck Island ice cream.

Frankly, more weddings should have ice cream. 😂

As the light started getting good later in the day, we snuck Megan and Jeremy away for some sunset portraits around Narrows Landing.

I always love having a little pocket of time around sunset if the weather gives it to us. It doesn’t need to mean disappearing for another massive portrait session. Sometimes ten or fifteen minutes away from everyone is plenty, and it gives you a completely different set of photographs from the ones we created earlier in the day.

Then everyone hit the dance floor

After speeches, dinner and all the formal bits were done, DJ Weast got everyone onto the dance floor and it properly kicked off.

And this is one of the reasons I don’t disappear the second the first dance is finished.

Once everyone forgets I’m there, jackets come off, shoes start disappearing and the dance floor photos get considerably more entertaining.

I photographed and filmed Megan and Jeremy’s wedding at the time, documenting everything from the ceremony and portraits through to the reception and dance floor.

Looking back through this wedding now, there is such a good mixture of the beautiful stuff and the completely unpolished stuff that happens in between. And that’s pretty much exactly what I want a wedding gallery to have.
