Gena and Phil’s wedding in Northland was definitely one to remember, not just because it was an amazing day but because it was one of the last weddings I photographed before the Covid-19 Lockdown in New Zealand.
I’m so excited to share with you all this crazy amazing, wild wedding. I could say so much about this wedding, about the beautiful venue, the amazing styling Susi and Mel create, the amazing colours and flowers and how someone’s speech was written on a roll of toilet paper. I could talk about the weather and how it really played ball and how the dried flowers used as confetti were so cute but really, this day was amazing for another reason.
This was a day where although not everyone could be present, it was a day filled to the brim with love for this couple, and laughter and fun. It was a day filled to the brim with these two and their family and friends having an unforgettable, once in a life-time experience. It was everyone together to celebrate these two and their life together so far and what they will accomplish in the future together. And that, to me, is why I photograph weddings. All the pretty parts, they just add to the vibe and the experience. It’s the people who matter.
