Family photoshoots are about capturing you and your family's love for one another, the hugs, the laughs and the funny faces. No matter whether your children are already in their teens or they still want to hunt for shells or make a sand castle and bury dad, we won't be death staring the camera. What we will be doing is capturing your family, making each of you feel amazing, capturing the fun or little ones, giving confidence to teenagers, creating beautiful portraits to capture this moment in your families life.
Don't worry, I'll always give you prompts and even tell you where to put your hands when you look a little lost!

I always make sure to take each adult and child's photograph individually but don't worry, I'll tell you exactly what to do so you don't feel uncomfortable!
We'll make sure to grab a photograph of each set of siblings as well as brothers and sisters, not just looking at the camera but in a more candid way as well that shows more personality.
Even parents and couples should have at least one nice photo of them together, it's not just about the kids! Don't worry though, again, I'll tell you exactly what to do to not be awkward!

Each little family unit get's it's time in the spot light, ensuring we capture both those looking at the camera family portraits as well as some more natural candid images for each family unit.
If all you and your children do is stare at the camera for two hours you'll get pretty bored. I always make sure to add in some games for the little ones and some movement for the elders.
I like to make sure we capture dad with his kids and mum with her kids and that special bond that each parent has with each child. This usually fits in as we shoot each individual family unit.

Cousin photos are such a great way to show the different ages of the whole group of kids as well as a great picture for grandparents walls, showing all their grandchildren in one shot!
Of course we have to grab a set of the adult children as well as the generational sets, like all the boys or all the girls. These are some of my most popular requests!
Each family unit gets it's photo with the grandparents involved if requested, this is usually doable so long as everyone is mobile and can last the length of the whole shoot.

Candid Images
It's always great to capture those lovely moments between grandparents and their grandchildren so we want to ensure we add that to your list of requested shots.
We'll make sure to grab a photograph of the whole group with everyone involved as a candid shot as well as a looking at the camera set, close up as well as featuring more of the landscape.
Every family unit and combination set will be given a few prompts to capture more candid versions of the set, ensuring we get both looking at the camera and more candid moments.

Your package is based on the number of people that will attend your photoshoot as this directly relates to the amount of time needed and the number of images delivered.
Extended Family Photoshoots are perfect to capture the whole family, including the cousins and grandparents and ensure that those beautiful memories, connections and people are captured, especially as families spread out around the world or grow up.

That's totally fine, simply add them onto your $1450 package price. Each additional person, regardless of age is $50 per head. So, for example:
A group of 20 people will be $1450 + ($50 x 10 people) = $1950

Together we will create beautiful images of you and your family interacting, playing and just being yourselves. I'll create images that showcase your family together and as individuals so that you have a great selection of images to choose from!
You'll get your sneak peek gallery not long after your photoshoot and then once your images are ready, you get to choose and download your final images and if you want, even order professional prints, frames and albums right from your gallery!

LOCATIONS & TRAVEL COSTS
Travel is included for all my clients favourite spots like Raglan, Waihi, Hamilton Gardens, The Redwoods in Rotorua and Papamoa Beach except for Mini Shoots, which is limited to 60km from Te Aroha, where I am based. If you'd like a location outside of Waikato or the Bay of Plenty, that's totally fine! Let me know where you want to go and I'll get you a travel quote!

Where do we print our photos?
How soon do we need to book?
How many images can I expect?
Can we bring our furbabies?
It's super easy to purchase prints, albums, frames, canvas or even calendars of your beautiful images right from your online gallery! Simply hit the shop icon to add to cart or check out the different products in the shop menu! You can of course take your chosen images elsewhere to print as well too.
Absolutely! Your furbaby is a part of your family and should absolutely be included! Let me know when you book that you'd like to bring your puppy along so that we make sure to choose a location suitable for your furry family member!
This will depend on your shoot length as well as your little ones but it's always plenty. For each 60 minutes, you can usually expect over 100 images in your gallery! We do different combinations, individuals as well as lots of fun or silly games so you'll have plenty of beautiful images, posed and candid shots as well as various angles to choose from!
For weekends, I'm often booked out a few months in advance so it's best to book as soon as you know you'd like a photoshoot with me. Weekends are usually booked out much sooner than weekdays are, with only a limited number of weekend dates available throughout the year due to weddings.
Is extended family welcome?
When is the best time for photos?
Well that depends if you like beautiful forests or greenery or amazing sunsets. Regardless, I prefer to shoot in the morning before the sun gets too high and harsh or in the last hour before the sunsets to get the best light. Winter, Summer, Spring and Autumn all have beautiful looks but if you'd like a sunset, remember that is Summer we shoot around 7.30pm where as in Winter, it's around 4pm.
Extended Family Shoots are a great way for you to get your whole family photographed together as well as the smaller family units and various groupings like the kids with the grandparents or all the cousins together. It does take longer than a normal family shoot so there are special packages for this. Make sure to book in via the Contact Form for extended families below.
